NEOA Strategic Plan
The NEOA Strategic Plan is divided into four sections:
Goal 1: Provide comprehensive professional development opportunities
to NEOA’s membership
- Identify and assess professional development needs of membership
- Develop comprehensive Professional Development plan annually (by
late fall)
- Publicize a coordinated professional development plan
Goal 2: Develop strategies to expand and strengthen NEOA’s
financial security and organizational capacity
- Create a reserve equal to one-half of the annual expenses by August
2009
- Explore new revenue generating activities
- Develop an annual Corporate Development plan by October of each
year
- Ensure coordination between the Corporate Development and Finance
Committee
Goal 3: Develop a plan to build and maintain continuous leadership
- Define and publicize various leadership opportunities within NEOA
- Encourage board members to identify, recruit and mentor individuals
for Board leadership roles
- Establish ongoing contact with Leadership Institute alums and encourage
their involvement with NEOA
- Plan an event at the annual conference for staff with 5+ years
of service in TRIO/GU with goal of reinvestment with leadership opportunities
- Develop and promote trainings for state and regional board positions
- Develop information packet for state mentor programs and new hires
in all TRIO/GU programs and post on the website
Goal 4: Strengthen NEOA’s capacity to advocate on behalf of
TRIO/GU students and programs
- Review existing committee structures and revise bylaws if necessary
to support achievement of goals identified in strategic plan
- Provide information and training to promote link between state
and national advocacy issues
- Create strategic marketing plan in alignment with NEOA’s
goals
- Expand TRIO/GU Alumni presence in NEOA
