While considering a nomination, please keep in mind that the NEOA Board of
Directors meets five times a year, usually in June, September, November, January
and April (just prior to the annual conference). Attendance at meetings is
expected and is critical to understanding the issues facing the Board and
organization. All expenses (travel, meals and lodging, with the exception
of the April Board meeting) are covered by NEOA. There should be no cost,
other than your time for you to participate on the NEOA Board. In addition,
the President, Past-President, and President-Elect represent NEOA as members
of the Board of Directors for the Council for Opportunity in Education. National
meetings of 3-4 days in length are held three times a year in locations throughout
the country.
